INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
In the context of the huge human resource requirements in the Information Technology field, a major contributor for the growth of our economy, the department of Information Technology started functioning in the academic session 2001-2002 with intake capacity of 60 seats having quality slogan : “To enrich human resource with efficient and effective manpower in Information Technology.” This department imparts the modern IT education to its students. Department is offering the Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology of Sant Gadgebaba Amrovott University An integrated teaching programme covering both theoretical and practical aspects of Information Technology mode effective by ways of class-room lectures / training, demonstrations, illustrations, lob assignments with audio visual aids, projects, seminars, industrial tours and in-plant training and the inputs by the leading professionals in the field of IT services and management, enabling the students to keep abreast of current industry trends. Soft skills such as individual, inter-personal communication are developed through workshop by experts. Deportment is having fully equipped laboratories as per AICTE norms covering the latest computing hardware, software and has certified CAT-6 structured cable network.. Internet connectivity is Available to each student. The laboratories are: Microprocessor based Design & Embedded System Lab., Red Hat Linux Open Source Lab., Advanced software Lab., Digital Electronics & Communication Engineering Lab. • As per latest trends and requirements of IT industries, the department is offering following subjects as elective in the curriculum: Modeling & Simulation, Data Warehousing, Distributed OS., Management Information System, ECommerce, Computer Graphics, Distributed D. B. M. S. and important subjects like Embedded System, Microprocessor based Design, Digital Signal Processing and Internet Technologies. • Faculty comprises of qualified, eminent and dedicated personnel who have behind them acknowledged experience In teaching and in industry. • In addition to academic interaction, faculty members of department are engaged in research & development activities by attending national, international seminars, conferences and faculty development programme. • The department has Information Technology Student Organization (ITSO) involved in various student centered activities like seminars, guest lectures, industrial .4sits and social activities. • Over the years. department has worked very closely with the requirements of Indian IT MNCs like TCS, Wipro, Satyam Computes FM. Ltd., Hyderabad and many more. • Building further on our past record, the placement, industry interaction activities will broaden to cover top companies for their IT manpower requirements. |
